This pattern has replaced the old faithful Elk Hair Caddis as my go-to caddis dry fly. Works all over the world (or so I've been told) but most definitely in Michigan and Montana. Once again, this pattern will cover a whole lot of entomology by varying the size, body colors and shades of deer hair wing. Make sure you tie a nice selection of Olive (Brachycentrus), Black (Glossosoma) and Cinnamon (Discosmoecus) - in other words make a bunch of different colors!
As usual you can find all the right stuff at - Blue Ribbon Flies.com . Look in Fly Tying Materials - Zelon dubbing |
