Hot Summer Days - July 1999

The first two weeks of July were hot and occasionally stormy in Grayling Michigan.  Fortunately, the water level of the big river was near normal and the stoneflies, mahogany spinners and light cahills were doing their thing.

As you can see, evening fishing on the Mainstream AuSable was productive and both Dad and the Kid got into some nice brown trout.  I'm sure this was because of the delicate and accurate presentations made possible by using a fine Bamboo fly rod.
